There are many types of blood pressure monitors for sale. Any can be purchased in most pharmacies. Be sure to buy a blood pressure monitor that has this label (we will email a pic) as it is endorsed by the Canadian Hypertension Education Program (CHEP). It is important to purchase a monitor with a cuff that is the right size for your arm. Smaller arms need smaller cuffs, just as larger arms need larger cuffs. Measuring your arm circumference mid way between the elbow and shoulder can help you determine the right cuff size for you. Always ask for help when you are purchasing a blood pressure machine as purchasing the correct machine is so important to monitoring treatment going forward.
